Kostis Kilymis is an artist focusing on electroacoustic phenomena and the place these find within the auditory process. He creates sound using feedback systems, filtering the input of his surroundings as well as the sounds of electronic equipment under various levels of misuse. He also amplifies their effects through traditional mixing and recording techniques. He performs solo and in collaboration (with Lucio Capece, Nikos Veliotis, Leif Elggren, Patrick Farmer amongst others) and has exhibited installation work in Athens, Greece. He has been active since 2006 and on his spare time he runs the ‘organized music from thessaloniki’ label.

Syndromes είναι το προσωπικό πρότζεκτ του Κωστή Κηλύμη, μουσικού πειραματιστή, αυτοσχεδιαστή, οργανωτή της organized music from thessaloniki, κ.α. Κάτω από αυτό το όνομα τα τελευταία χρόνια παρουσιάζει την άποψή του πάνω στο ηχητικό feedback, την αυτοσχέδια ηλεκτρονική μουσική και τον εγκεφαλικό θόρυβο. Οι προσπάθειες του έχουν μέχρι στιγμής επικεντρωθεί σε σποραδικές ζωντανές εμφανίσεις και σε ηχογραφημένα δείγματα, όπως αυτό το άλμπουμ του ‘temporary perspectives’ [organized music from thessaloniki, 2010]. Η δουλειά του πέρα από το πρότζεκτ αυτό επεκτείνεται και σε συνεργασίες -με τους Lucio Capece, Νίκο Βελιώτη, Leif Elggren, Patrick Farmer και Sister Overdrive μεταξύ άλλων- ενώ έχει παρουσιάσει έργο και σε μορφή εγκαταστάσεων, βίντεο, κ.α. Στο χώρο της KNOT θα παρουσιάσει τη λογική συνέχεια της περσινής του εμφάνισης στο Bios Cinematheque, σε συνδυασμό με δείγματα από την επερχόμενη δισκογραφική του δουλειά.
Το οπτικό μέρος της περφόρμανς θα επιμεληθεί, με ζωντανό βίντεο projection, η Παρά Λία.

Μαζί του η Γεωργία Καρύδη επανεξετάζει ό,τι γνωρίζει για μερικά γνωστά και λιγότερο γνωστά μουσικά κομμάτια.

a happy new year to all, and a quick stab at the exciting month that’s just begun for live music in athens:

Knot gallery has been the go-to place for challenging gigs in the greek capital for quite some time now, and every now and then there’s an exciting stretch of concerts such as the one that will unfold in the coming weeks. Noise, a few decks below is itself involved in one way or another in 3 out of 4 of those, and the one we haven’t had our hand in is John mf’ing Butcher, so yea, we’re digging that one as well. We’ll be posting info for each date separately, but for the time being, we’ll give you a quick run-down:
