This is a live recording of a concert that took place in Knot Gallery in Athens 05/13/2012. Performing with modular synthesizer systems and electromechanic devices the artists built long duration soundscapes of sine waves, mechanical noise and electronic pulsers. The audience had the choice to move in the place perceiving the sound in different timbre and level.
Along with the sound performance, Vassilis Koundouris (www.studio19st.com ) manipulated the system’s output signal producing video projections of Chladni Patterns

last friday at knot gallery in athens, unan (chris chondropoulos) and nikos kyriazopoulos celebrated the release of their split tape on organized music from thessaloniki/a question of re_entry. Though the bill for the night listed nikos and chris’ band xysm, the two of them didn’t miss the opportunity of an unrehearsed duo set. Featuring a percussion and synth blowout, the duo was not exactly aligned to the more pastoral contents of the tape but was nevertheless a thrill for artists and audience alike. athens-based artists unan (chris chondropoulos) and nikos kyriazopoulos, have a new split tape out on noise, a few decks below (this very website that is, the tape is actually co-produced by organized music from thessaloniki and a question of re_entry). The two sides contain each artist’s idiosyncratic take on the subject of bird-song. Unan offers a little musique concrete gem, built from the base up from re-purposed old vinyl, while Kyriazopoulos takes the quasi-mimetic path (though doesn’t limit himself to it) using his arsenal of analog electronics.

to add insult to injury, they have decided to stage a release party of sorts this friday, in the shape of a double-bill concert at knot gallery, athens. Featuring kyriazopoulos, and local experimental band xysm, of which chris is a proud member, this gig will be a nice opportunity to catch up with some of athens’ more forward-looking experimentalists, and to warm up for what looks to be a busy and noisy weekend.

constructed under an enthusiasm for fairytales, stories & influenced from various 7″s/LPs of my children’s records collection, ‘weird fairytales’ was born as a farewell edition for the transformation of absurd from chrysallis to a butterfly that then flew to eternity in xanthi last december (2010) but due to the limited time for its construction & release gave me the chance for a new trilogy was given so got hooked on it and the frans de waard / howard stelzer 7″ was issued as its 1st part and now comes the 2nd installment a compilation of fairytales & stories from greece and the rest of the world narrated by michel doneda (france), leif elggren (sweden), sonic catering band (uk), if,bwana (usa), geoff dugan (usa), vague (switzerland) & from greece, sokrates martinis, spyros fengos, dimitri karageorgos, nikos kyriazopoulos, adam_is telling us their beloved fairytales or creating new stories or even transfering stories of places they’ve been and were told in this 2nd part (which will be completed later with fairytales and stories about total destruction, death and rebirth) which is constructed as various of my beloved children’s records one side of which includes the more ‘musical’ part (therefore the sound construction side is the first) whereas the other has the narration (in this case treated voices & sounds plus 2 narration parts). having as cover the photo of a fellow conceptualist of little amaryllis elafrou who was given as a friend from a forest to her sometime ago, printed & designed by mikes adamis.

δημιουργημένο εν μέσω εμμονών με παραμύθια, ιστορίες και επηρεασμένο απο αρκετά βινύλια απο τη συλλογή των παιδικών δίσκων μου τα παράξενα παραμύθια γεννήθηκαν ως αποχαιρετιστήρια ιδέα για το τελευταίο τίναγμα των φτερών του absurd την ώρα που απο χρυσαλλίδα μεταμορφωνόταν σε πεταλούδα στην πόλη της ξάνθης το δεκέμβρη του 2010. λόγω έλλειψης χρόνου δώθηκε μια ευκαιρία για να ξεκινήσω μία τριλογία, αρχή της το 7″ των howard stelzer / frans de waard και τώρα η συνέχεια μια συλλογή με παραμύθια και ιστορίες απο την ελλάδα και τον υπόλοιπο κόσμο με αφηγητές τους michel doneda (γαλλία), sonic catering band (αγγλία), if,bwana (αμερική), geoff dugan (αμερική), vague (ελβετία), leif elggren (σουηδία) & απο ελλάδα τους σωκράτη μαρτίνη, νίκο κυριαζόπουλο, adam_is, σπύρο φέγγο, να αφηγούνται με το δικό τους τρόπο αγαπημένα τους παραμύθια, να εξιστορούν νέες διηγήσεις ή να μεταφέρουν ιστορίες που τους είπαν μέρη στα οποία βρέθηκαν σε αυτό το δεύτερο μέρος (που θα ολοκληρωθεί με ιστορίες και παραμύθια απόλυτης καταστροφής θανάτου και αναγέννησης). στημένη όπως αρκετοί αγαπημένοι μου παιδικοί δίσκοι όπου η μία πλευρά ήταν συνήθως η πιο ‘μουσική’ στην προκειμένη είναι η ηχητική ενώ η άλλη είχε την αφήγηση. στην προκειμένη έχουμε ήχο με φωνή και δύο απλές αφηγήσεις. με φωτογραφία εξωφύλλου ενός συνοδοιπόρου που χάρισε ένα δάσος κάποτε στη μικρή αμαρυλίς ελαφρού και έστησε ο μικές αδάμης αναλαμβάνοντας και την εκτύπωση του.
το τεύχος κυκλοφορεί σε 200 αντίτυπα.

Black to Comm
Black To Comm είναι το προσωπικό όχημα του marc richter (ιδιοκτήτη της εταιρείας dekorder) ο οποίος παντρεύει τους ήχους απο παλιά σύνθ, συμβατικά όργανα, tapes, διάφορα εφέ, πειραγμένα βινύλια. Δημιουργώντας μια σκοτεινή electronica -άλλοτε γύρω από επιβλητικούς ambient ήχους και άλλες φορές με σύντομες εκφραστικές μινιατούρες- μας οδηγεί στα πλέον υπνωτικά μουσικά μονοπάτια.

Lunar Miasma
Lunar Miasma είναι το καινούργιο πρότζεκτ του Πάνου Αλεξιάδη (γνωστού και ώς Red Needled Sea). Αριθμώντας ήδη σείρα απο κυκλοφορίες σε εταιρείες όπως η Ruralfaune, Small Doses και η δική του Insult (μεταξύ των οποίων ένα split με τον Xela) ο ήχος του τοποθετείται στο επίκεντρο του νέου ψυχεδελικού ιδιώματος που προέκυψε απο το συνδιασμό drone, ambient, noise και new age. Χρησιμοποιώντας αποκλειστικά αναλογικά synth χτίζει ψυχοτροπικά ηχοτοπία που συνδιάζουν αβίαστα το ρετρό φουτουρισμό του Blade Runner, τις hypnagogic εμμονές, τους μεταλλικούς βόμβους και το θόρυβο.

black to comm is the personal project of marc richter (label owner of the dekorder imprint), in which he brings together the sounds of old-fashioned synthesizers, conventional instruments, tapes, effects, manipulated vinyl and so on, in creating dark electronica sounds and imposing ambiences. Either through epic drone-y tracks or in brief song-like miniatures, he carries the listener to some uniquely hypnotic musical paths.

Ο Δημήτρης Καμαρωτός, μουσικός του Theseum Ensemble, επιλέγει και παρουσιάζει μαζί με την Αμαλία Μουτούση, την μουσική του από παραστάσεις από το 1993 μέχρι σήμερα, σε μια σειρά συναυλιών με τον τίτλο: “ NO ONE CURED ”.
Στα live, εκτός από την Αμαλία Μουτούση και τον ίδιο, συμμετέχουν οι μουσικοί:

Η επιλογή του Theseum Ensemble να μην παρουσιάσει φέτος νέα παράσταση συνοδεύεται από αυτή την σειρά συναυλιών. Θα υπάρχουν τραγούδια και μουσική όπως ήταν ενταγμένα στις παραστάσεις, αλλά και μέρη τους που διαμορφώθηκαν με την απόσταση που μας χωρίζει από αυτές και τις ανάγκες της ζωντανής μουσικής.
