echomusic is turning quite prolific since it morphed into a net-label right about the turn between 2011 and 2012 -it seems we should be expecting something from them every month or so from now. Now, a lot of people might go straight into a quantity vs. quality mode following news like that, easy listening, y’know? Well, judging from this release by Darius Ciuta, easily digestible and unchallenging sound material is not something we should expect anytime soon from the curatorial hand of label-manager yiorgis sakellariou. This of course spells good news in my book.
H-CS uses field recordings to create something other than a passive appreciation of landscape. Ciuta has been receiving notice in the past year within field-recording circles, and for good reason i might say, judging from the excerpts below.
