call for works/curators abroad: das kleine field recordings festival – intercontinental

hello friends, listeners and memories,

The das kleine field recordings festival 2008 has come to an end on january 30th. More then 20 evenings with -by low estimation – an overall audience of 600+, were set up.

This year’s modus will be “intercontinental”. The first evening will be on 27th of february with three guests from three different continents. These concerts will be transmitted live via the internet, details will be sent out next week. The transmission will be from 21.00 CET+1, until 01.00 CET+1 approx.
I would like to ask people on this list to send in a field recording (pure or used in a composition) of, say 6 minutes maximum. These recordings will be transmitted and played at the venue in the intervals.

I would also like to work on a realisation of the intercontinental concept:
a das kleine field recordings festival edition in one or more places on one or more different continents to be held at the same day.
My next edition will be somewhere in April.

news from jeff gburek

hello friends, just a small update as a new era unfolds for me in poland. www.futurevessel.com/orphansounds and www.myspace.com/aenigmaplasme both have new material posted. a new duo laptop electronic project is on its way soon.

in the meantime i will be playing at the ad libitim festival in warsaw october 21, interpreting scores by cardew, feldmann, wolff and lamonte young in the humbling company of phil durrant, eddie prevost, john tilbury and tetuzi akiyama. i and tetuzi will also play as duet in poznan on the 27th october. after that its to berlin for rehearsals for djalma primordial science’s return by overwhelming demand to potsdam’s UNIDRAM festival. this time ephia possesses herself the animus of lucia joyce in “mirrorminded curiositease” www.djalma.com in which i have the challenge of further decoding phonemes into sonomemes, maybe making finnegan’s wake’s wake even more complicated and after rigors of microsonic sensual deconstruction perhaps even a bit more enjoyable even if by accident. soon after that i will be searching out new digs here in poznan. a new exhibit of my drawings should take place in torun in december or maybe in january but it is just a question of when. otherwise it’s back to teaching and i hope next semester i can seduce the local university to accept my proposal to tell everyone what american literature is really (not) all about.
it will be an interesting new year, i suspect.
let me know
jeff

absurd mailing list

absurd has set up a mailing list in order to keep interested parties informed on its activities. you can add yourself to it using a simple form found here. since they have established themselves as one of the most prolific -as well as erratic in their schedule- entities, there is enough reason to think that a list like this will be of service to some…
